If you are worried about your financial situation we may be able to help. You should not ignore the problem. If you have received court forms you should read them and check the deadline for a response.
You may be able to obtain an immediate answer to your enquiry by visiting the debt section of adviceguide, the Citizens Advice Bureaux online service that provides practical, up-to-date independent information on your rights.

We may be able to offer you an appointment, telephone advice, signpost you to other organisations or send you a self help pack. The information that you send will be stored on a confidential case record.
If you qualify for legal aid, it does not matter if you do not live or work in in the London Borough of Sutton. You should qualify for legal aid if you receive Income Support, Income Based Jobseekers Allowance or Guarantee Pension Credit. You may also qualify for legal aid if you are on a low income. Payplan provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice. Payplan offers impartial advice regardless of your level of debt. If you have over £100 per month available to your creditors, Payplan may be able to arrange a debt management plan with your creditors. You can make one payment to payplan which will be distributed between your creditors. In many cases, creditors will agree to freeze the interest on the debt.
Consumer Credit Counselling Service provide free confidential advice and support. They can also arrange debt management plans.
National Debt Line provide free, confidential independent advice on how to deal with debt problems.
