If you have an employment enquiry, you need to obtain competent advice as soon as possible. In most cases, you will have to start action within three months of the incident or decision that you are unhappy about.
- You may be able to obtain an immediate answer to your enquiry by visiting the employment section of adviceguide, the Citizens Advice Bureaux online service that provides practical, up-to-date independent information on your rights
- If you are a member of a Trade Union or Professional Association, you should contact your Union or Association as they should have knowledge and experience specific to your type of work and your workplace.
- If you are legally aidable, you can obtain advice from community legal services direct by telephoning 0845 345 4345
You may be able to obtain advice from a solicitor. Check if your household or other insurance provides legal expenses cover. You can obtain details of local solicitors by contacting community legal services direct or the lawsociety.
ACAS can provide up-to-date information and independent advice. You can telephone ACAS on 08457 47 47 47 Monday - Friday 8:00 am -6:00 pm.
Public concern at work provides free confidential advice to people concerned about work place malpractice such as fraud, abuse and public dangers.
