03/02/2008 - Report from Sutton Borough CABx's team training day

Sutton Borough CABx Team Training Day

Sutton Borough CABx spring training fortnight got off to a good start with the annual team training day. This year it was at Salvation Army Conference Halls, Sutton.  65 delegates attended to hear Ann Kinahan outline record client results during 2007/8 and to explain the forthcoming challenges of partnership working and preparing for commissioning.  Participants took part in workshops on Protecting our Clients and Protecting our Team, thereby contributing to the annual updating of Bureau policies.  The afternoon saw the service stage its own version of BBC Question Time and was pleased to welcome Karen Peck, Senior Policy Officer, London Borough of Sutton; Shani Fancett, Membership Services Director, Citizens Advice; Janice McCullock, Community Engagement Co-ordinator, SCVS; Councillor Eric Howell and Steve Triner, Services Manager, Sutton CABx.  The panel ably fended questions on subjects diverse as Preparing for Commissioning in the Voluntary Sector and the likely impact of a possible woman President of the USA.
